Welcome to this month’s PENLetter

We have collated all the current and inspirational patient experience news into one place.

Welcome to our May edition of our newsletter.
Earlier this month we held the first of our series of Insight events in Birmingham on 9th May.  We had a tremendous day and participants reported that “It was a great opportunity to network and to meet new people – I learnt a lot about what is happening ‘in the frontline’ and how simple ideas can make a big difference”.

Others enjoyed the FFT update and commented when asked what did you learn or gain from today – “Too much to write down. Very interested to know of planned changes to FFT. Reinforced link between PT & staff experience”.  We’d love to see you at one of the events – more details can be found under PENNA2017.

Also in this edition we have several great events in the diary and some interesting articles including one about improving the experience with self-cleaning surfaces!

As always please send us your news – we love to share the good stuff.

All the best

Ruth

Save the date

Across healthcare, Wednesday 6 June is what matters to you day, when we’ll be encouraging health and care practitioners to change the focus of the conversations they have with people. We want them to shift from asking ‘what’s the matter with you?’  to ‘what matters to you?’. This is an international campaign: you can see how it’s been running in Scotland for the last two years at www.whatmatterstoyou.scot.  NHS England is working in partnership with Health Education England and Public Health England to get the English campaign up and running. So – save the date. More information of how you can get involved and spread the word in our next edition.  In the meantime for more info please contact Jayne.beecham@nhs.net  or jonathan.berry2@nhs.net.  Join the Twitter conversation at #WMTY2018.
