Thank you for considering entering the PEN National Awards – the only awards of their kind uniquely dedicated to celebrating the wonderful work being undertaken to improve the experience of care.
PENNA2020 timelines:
We have changed the timelines for #PENNA21 in response to feedback.
Firstly we would like to say a huge “Thank You” for all your words of support and encouragement for the PEN National Awards this year. It seems that they are perhaps, even more important to you than usual, as a beacon of positivity in this challenging world.
However, we are really aware of increased workload and pressure on many of our organisations as the new Covid variant gains traction across the UK. Although we have received more interest than usual at this stage of the process, for many who want to join in, entering the Awards cannot be their focus at the moment. In addition, those who entered and a PENNA Award, last September have really not had the time to truly celebrate and enjoy their success.
As a result we have extended the Awards until later in the year. So – entries for all the Awards, did NOT close Friday (29th January) – BUT please do keep sending your entries in, if you can (and if you have done so already – thank you!). You can make changes to these at any stage until we close.
Key Dates:
18th June 2021: Deadline for All Awards Submission Entries
9th July 2021: Shortlisted Finalists Announced
13th – 16th September 2021: Virtual Awards Conference and Category Winners
17th September 2021 – Virtual Overall Winner Awards Ceremony

(*Don’t worry, we haven’t skipped a year! Last years awards were referred to as #PENNA19, as they celebrated the work carried out throughout 2019. Due to slight difference in timelines and the inclusion of Best Practice from 2020 and 2021, we have decided that this year’s event will be referred to us #PENNA21.)

Fees for PENNA2020 are as follows:
First entry: £199 – includes link for virtual conference and party-box
Subsequent entries: £119 – additional link provided
Attendance at event: £199 – for non-entrants
